What are Fireside Mental Health Chats?

The Fireside Mental Health Chats (FMHCs) curriculum is a bipartite, evidence-informed guide for both facilitators and youth looking to support youth mental health. The program itself consists of hour-long meetings, or “chats,” that take place with middle school or high school aged youth involved with school or community-based programing. These chats offer participants a space to discuss and process their emotions in a safe, validating environment and engage in activities that will support their mental health via the development of specific skills. These chats provide opportunities for non-directive emotional processing and directive mental health and social and emotional skills building work.
